Late payment email for freelancers (3 templates that work)
As a freelancer, chasing money can feel like it risks the relationship. It doesn’t have to. Short, specific emails get paid; long, apologetic ones get ignored.
Template 1: gentle nudge (1–3 days late)
Subject: Invoice {number}: quick reminder
Hi {name},
Hope the project is going well. Invoice {number} for {amount} was due on {date}. Here’s the link to pay: {link}.
Could you let me know when it’s scheduled?
Thanks,
